Not every happenings in our life are worth storing in our memory. Apparently, some are always cherishable even after we surpass several years in our life. I always had a dream to travel and explore different places with varied culture and diversity. So, did I get an opportunity and it was a great experience which will always cling to my memory.

Here goes my favorite travel history. Happiness comes not from the people or the culture, it comes from the place that has the magic to enlighten the souls. One such amazing country that I visited was Bhutan. It was not just a travel but was an experience. Learnings are like diamond, you have to mine the experiences to enrich the hidden treasure called knowledge. Bhutan was not just a fun travel but a knowledge travel that leaves its reminiscence even after an year.

People in Bhutan are ‘Early birds’

What? Why? How? HAHA…This was the first reaction that came up to my mind when I starting searching for hotels at 9PM. A pin drop silence is what that surrounded the serene roads at 9PM. People in Bhutan follow a time schedule and that is never violated. Whether you are the king or an ordinary shop keeper, the rule remains the same. I somehow managed to find a hotel

and the dinner was a feast in a hurry. Dumplings — Oh man, the best I would say. The customer was happy even during the closing time. I learnt the dedication level of these people — A big applause. That night was good with a lot of dreams about the next day’s schedule. Woke up to the bird chirping sound and it was past 7AM. What was the surprise when I peeped through the windows? People were busy doing their early morning prayers, the shops open, and the hustle-bustle streets. What’s this surprise? People start their day at 5AM. I was ready for the day’s trip — The tour guide explained, “Our daily routine is 5AM-9PM. You cannot see anyone sleeping past 5 and being awake past 9”.

“You can feed your mind and body with happiness when you have a proper sleep. Waking up early gives you a firm determination and you can never get tired at your work”. — Lesson 1

Spirituality comes before all

People in Bhutan follow Buddhism and are very particular in their practices and beliefs. They follow the great sayings of Buddha and also practice meditation as a prime factor. I happened to see all the monasteries where every sayings of Buddha are sculpted in beautiful arts. The story of their ancestors are depicted in a pictorial representation on the walls. I meditated for a few minutes and I could really feel the positive vibe running through my veins. My mind was fresh and I felt happy inside. For a moment, I forgot all my problems and could enrich the essence of calmness at a greater level.

Peace

“Meditation and spiritual belief heals the wounded soul. No matter how much you seek for someone’s support, pure healing happens when you seek it within yourself. Meditation helps you fight your inner barricades.” — Lesson 2

Tiger Nest — Worth the walk

Oh! This one, I could never forget. At times we are wonderstruck at our own stamina. The trek to the tiger nest was one such amazing experience I ever had. I started at 10AM and the walk was easy till 12 noon, after that the paths showed its real hurdle. It was a inclined, you cannot just walk but climb. While walking I saw an old lady (she should definitely be around 80 years of age), she climbed the mountains as it was a piece-of-cake. I hummed to myself, “Up and above the trek so high” and was gaining my strength by looking at the other tourists. The view-point above was inexplicable, it felt like I achieved something great in life. The temple was built centuries ago and it still stands at its edge as the king of beauty. Everyone around were gasping, “WOW! MARVELOUS! FANTASTIC! THIS IS HEAVEN!”. Yes, even I felt the same.

The heaven view — Tiger nest

“Beautiful things in life are not attained at ease. The effort, strength, and determination is what it takes to reach your target. Though the path is difficult, never stop trying and keep going till you succeed.” — Lesson 3

This trip was a memorable one because it made me learn about life and positive attitude. Life’s greatest lessons can never be learnt until we experience it — I realized this from a short yet beautiful travel.

Dig down your travel history and share your travel experiences. I would love to hear :)
